From my most recent experience even our own communities don’t want our activism and organizing. I have yet to do a blog post on this but I have been involved in writing poetry and playing with my pastels!

I am the same, but this worries me. Am I more and more interested in art or am I more and more resigned to the closing of the public sphere and possibility of social response? What I want is to concern myself with something more than me; to be a part of something and to struggle on behalf of that greater something. In the absence of politics I’m left with romance, religion or art. I want all of them. I want all of them.

I haven’t commented here for awhile and I used to blog under a different name…I miss reading your thoughts…

It’s strange, I used to be anti-art. Like I should have been involved in the dada movement in France but now it seems I am turning into an artist. It has been such a great tool for me to make ideas accessible and cast a larger net. However, I don’t particularly like art culture, it is sooo self important. There is too much weight on the artists being the cause themselves. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out what that means and at what cost.
