It *kills* me that there are no Community Acupuncture clinics in Toledo or Cleveland or Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids , much less Clarkston (for example), that I can refer people to. That's part of the reason we really want to work on reducing the training requirements for entering the profession (current programs run around 3000 hours, which is unnecessarily excessive & expensive), so that it could be something that someone FROM one of those places could study & hopefully make a modest living at--without having a trust fund, or a naive/foolhardy relationship to student loan debt (like myself). Anyway, if you know of any acupuncturist in your area that you think might be receptive, bug them! Or send them *all* unsolicited angry letters! There must be at least one who isn't making a living charging so much (because MOST people are like yourself and can't afford that kind of cash outlay), or who feels uncomfortable about their rates, and who is open to converting.
