And to her I will add the swexy Slitherin o’ color who popped throughout the film (starting with Malfoy in the train car). I was like…hmm. I’m wearing my Griffindor shirt but maybe I need to speak the snake speak after all.

(hmm. that wasn’t supposed to sound so erotic but ok.)

And the feeding harry the cake thing, and the crying because she’s fighting with dean…..I mean–I was OUTRAGED about the crying over dean–because JKR said over and over in the books–GINNY DOESN’T CRY. that’s one of the things that “harry always loved” about Ginny–and he speculates that “having six brothers must’ve toughened her up.” —so if she has six brothers that have toughened her up and a mother who has taught her not to put up with shit, why is she crying? why is she flirting by tying a dude’s shoes for him? I think that the book harry would’ve totally thrown a bat boogey hex at the movie ginny.

but I have to wonder too–I don’t think that the acting was the greatest in this film. SO fucking wooden and stale. And ginny–if she is anything, she is full of life and energy. she respects fred and george. she steals brooms at the age of six and practices flying on her own. and this actress was Sooooooooooooooooooooooo flat. I mean, I kept wondering if she was shy in real life and didn’t have enough experience as an actress to be more outgoing for the role. I mean…to me…Ginny SHOULD’ve been more like the woman of color in the coffee shop. forward, flirty, assertive with what she wanted, a jiggle in her step, and ALIVE.

And susurro–NO, i didn’t notice that thing with the girl’s hair!!!!!!!!!! JESUS.

oh, and the ending????? WTF? where was the extended battle scene? we get this weird, dumbledore killed, harry runs, snape snarls, and the death eaters walk around looking for hagrid’s hut to set on fire.

WHy did draco need to get all the death eaters into hogwarts if their only job once they got in there was to watch draco kill dumbledore? WTF?

It was a messy movie, as usual, trying to cram so much plot in that the movie completely disassociated itself from major character traits and story lines.

Not impressed with this movie, and noticing that the villains are developing a rather cardboardy texture.

I enjoyed it, but felt that so much of the mood of the book was lost. For example, unless they are going to pick up more of the flashbacks in the next movie, much of Voldemort’s history was missing.

And small quibble: I was SO disappointed that Harry never got the chance to hook up with the cute Muggle-of-color from the beginning of the film! LOL

(Did you notice the black girl whose hair got blown into a natural in the joke shop?)

So many “little things” in this one. While it gets a total fail on the handling of all of the strong women in the last two films, I still credit the franchise for refusing to depict the pro-slavery storyline from the books.
