Jess here, wanting to tell you: I have some posts brewing that reflect on some of what’s going on in this contentious — and, I think, important — thread , in the context of some broader conversations about gender, queerness, gender nonconformity, feminisms, difficult discourses and commitments to walking together through them. (I’ve also been wanting/needing to respond at more length to this one .)
But those posts aren’t ready yet — partly because I’m going through some major changes in my personal life (some of which are also relevant to this project, but I’m not ready to write about that stuff yet), so I haven’t had the time or energy to read the NOWHC threads here and elsewhere as carefully as I’d like to or write out any of the things that are bubbling for me in relation to them. Also, as we’ve discussed here a bit, I think it’s good sometimes to not feel too bound by the now-now-now pace of the Internet, and I want to take some time to read and listen and think through various possible ways to engage with these conversations.
So, for various reasons, I’m going to post a (Re)Thinking Walking post today that covers quite different territory, and it’s important to me to tell you that that’s not about ignoring or dismissing these other important conversations. It’s about listening, and thinking, and feeling, and time.

What do you think?
