whitehousegardenSo I’m not the only one doing gardening. I’m sure you all have already heard this–that Michelle Obama is leading the way in planting a garden at the White House–something not even the unconquerable Elenore Roosevelt thought to do. something not done since the unconquerable Elenore Roosevelt did the same thing!

Michelle just planted seedlings today–and she wasn’t afraid to get out and do the planting herself. Something I totally adore. I wonder if Michelle will forget about the school kids and invite all us radical blogging gardeners to help out in her garden?

~~also, I think that I will be out celebrating birthday/Easter by planting my own seedlings…not sure if it will be warm enough, but we’re gonna give it a go…

I love that she is doing this. In times that are economically rough not only does gardening help us reconnect with the earth it provides cheap and healthy food to it. There was a time when the home garden was seen as an essential part of subsistence rather than the hobby that it has become today.

    I love it too!

Apparently the pesticide lobby is all upset that she’s doing it organically. http://www.commondreams.org/further/2009/04/12

I’ve always heard that peas and potatoes go in on St Patrick’s day.

What do you think?
