The ever kind and amazing Anxious Black Woman gave me a splash award. Which apparently means the following:
The Splash award is given to alluring, amusing, bewitching, impressive, and inspiring blogs. When you receive this award, you must:
1. Put the logo on your blog/post.
2. Nominate up to 9 blogs which allure, amuse, bewitch, impress or inspire you.
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have been splashed by commenting on their blog.
5. Remember to link to the person from whom you received your Splash award.
Now, I hate all these steps, so I’m gonna do it my own way. So there.
I nominate the following sparkly mermaids:
1. Queer Eye Candy: Because if I had access to a site like this when I was a kid, I would’ve felt a lot less lonely.
2. Off Our Pedestals: because the sun causes Ilyka to hiss just like me, and she has a crone gun too.
3. Kai Zuky: Because Kai laughs at the idea of hitting little kids with a cane, and I do too. Plus he helps me to breath easier in an airless world.
4. Raven’s Eye: Because it came from a dream, and can only get better if splashed with a little mermaid sparkle.
5. A site that I will not name but who knows who it is: I blow sparkly diamond fluffs at you!
6. Ojibway Migisi Bineshii: Who promises to travel with me as long as she can use a horse instead of a car.
7. Acts of Faith and Love: Great critical commentary on latest happenings and has a very cute twitter picture!
8. Chicks Dig Me: one of the very few women who has promised me to pull her pants off, no questions asked, the moment we meet. Hence, I can’t wait to meet her. And her blog’s pretty good too!!! ![]()
9. Nanette Kelly: writes about kittehs when I most need her to. And thus I bestow her my sparkly mermaid dress. Thank you Nanette!

You say promised, I say threatened, tom-ay-toe, tom-ah-toe, etc.
When I’m finished falling apart on the physical front, I will follow through with these Splash award things. I don’t know how to put logos on my blog, though. And apparently there’s little I like better than not-knowing-how-to-do-things and leaving it at that. (Versus, I don’t know, learning.)
Thank you for this award, though. I can’t wait to meet you either, pants-off or pants-on. xoxoxo

No fair, Miz Kelly–you promised pants off!
BFP, thank you. I suck at accepting compliments gracefully, but honestly: Thank you. Thank you so much.

a sparkly mermaid’s dress! *just* what I’ve always wanted, bfp. Thank you! Happy my almost kitties brought something to your day.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must go twirl (with my pants on, though).

Thank you, BFP! I mean, wacking kiddies with a cane as a lesson in Buddhism is funny, right?
Whoa I just looked at the sparkly mermaid logo and, I dunno, maybe I need to get over certain hangups or something but I just can’t see putting that on my blog!
I think I’ll just twirl alongside Nanette.

oooooooooooooooooooooh, kai–I’ma gonna take back my sparkly mermaid dress if you don’t put it on. The reason I *gave* it to you is because you are well aware of the positive energy forces that can come from a mermaid dress. PUT IT ON. :-p

BFP – Thanks so much for the shout-out. I sometimes wonder why I’m doing this in the greater scheme of my life and purpose. I haven’t figured it out yet but I know that I must write for my sanity. You were one of the first prominent bloggers I’d read about and it’s nice to converse with you in the online community.
