Just found this site, Veggie Gardening Tips, which highlights “how to grow vegetable gardens” and so far, I’ve found it to be extremely useful.

For example, the latest post leads to the Seed Saver Exchange website, which is a site devoted to the preservation of plant diversity–or, according to their website:

Seed Savers Exchangeis a non-profit, member supported organization that saves and shares the heirloom seeds of our garden heritage, forming a living legacy that can be passed down through generations. Our loyal SSE members have distributed an estimated 1 million samples of rare garden seeds since our founding nearly 35 years ago. Those seeds now are widely used by seed companies, small farmers supplying local and regional markets, chefs and home gardeners and cooks, alike.

Both sites are chocked full of great information for the beginning “political” gardener (there’s got to be a better descriptor than that!), check them out!

I’m going to a food gardening workshop this week! I’m excited!

(The best thing I’m growing at the moment is chilli. My chillis are bright red and quite hot and they are fantastic)

I love Seed Savers. Their website forum is awesome reading to get advice from people who have been veggie gardening for a long time and are eager to share their wealth of knowledge. Sooo excited to start garden planting this year. Now to visit the other website you linked to :)

Hope your family heals up quickly.

I work in agfood right now (don’t ask; they needed someone, I needed a job after a layoff), and we’ve got some samples of quinoa, amaranth, and red clover seeds in the kitchen waiting to be taken home if anyone in the area wants them.

What do you think?
