VIDEO: A short clip of the Afro-Brazillian martial art/dance sport, Capoeira

A lot of people are familiar with Capoeira, the Afro-Brazillian martial art/dance sport– but did you know that all of the music is improvised? The leaders of the musicians play instruments called berimbaus and regulate the game. If a game becomes too aggressive, the berimbau player will step in and direct the participants. It’s kind of like a dance boxing match with drum-playing referees.
